The extensive refurbishment of Heidelberg's Stadthalle has prepared one of the city's most significant historic buildings for the future. More than 120 years after its construction, the listed building now combines its architectural heritage with modern building technology and contemporary safety standards. Reopened in early 2026, the Stadthalle once again serves as a modern concert venue that brings tradition and innovation together.
Hero Fire contributed to the refurbishment by supplying 72 m² of EI30 fire-resistant glazing. The glazing was installed in sidelights, door leaves, fixed door panels and arched fanlights and was specifically tailored to the requirements of the historic building.
As part of the refurbishment, the building services, lighting, electrical installations and the entire fire protection concept were comprehensively modernised. The fire-resistant glazing forms a key element of the overall safety concept while integrating seamlessly into the building's historic architecture. This preserves the original appearance while ensuring the venue meets the requirements of a modern event location.
