Apprenticeship as a Flat Glass Technologist(m/f/d)

During the apprenticeship as a flat glass technologist, you will learn how to process flat glass using various techniques. You will give the glass its finishing touch so that it can be used to create windows, doors, and furniture, as well as glass products for ships, superyachts, and much more.

To be able to carry out all tasks related to the production of glass products, you will learn how to operate machines and systems. You will control modern glass-processing machines, enter data into computer programs, and operate the tools. In the end, you will monitor the ongoing production process and check the quality of intermediate and final products.

To give you in-depth insights into all production areas, you will rotate through all production departments as an apprentice.

• A good secondary school certificate (“Hauptschulabschluss”), with a focus on mathematics and crafts/technical subjects
• Manual skills for operating and maintaining machines, as well as for manual production and processing of flat glass
• Good spatial imagination for reading and implementing technical drawings
• Drawing skills for creating sketches and designs

• State-recognized apprenticeship occupation
• Dual training system (company and vocational school)
• Vocational school is organized in block sessions. Apprentices attend vocational school in Wertheim (near Würzburg) three times a year
• At Hero-Glas, flat glass technologists work in a two-shift system
• So far, all flat glass technologists have been offered permanent employment at Hero-Glas after their training
• After successfully completing the apprenticeship and gaining a few years of experience, you have the opportunity to further your education as a certified technician or industrial master in glass
